GNU/Linux, Debian and Firefox

There's currently a dispute over Debian's use of Firefox, or, more specifically, its brand. Plenty of people have already commented, but some are considering that its just a storm in a teacup.
Another interesting idea that floated around Debian a short while ago was a steering committee - in case you missed it, here are just a small clutch of the pages on the web discussing it:
