I think instead that dreamlinux is something very new in the debian based world and very stable (unless you do a deep upgrade as often happens on debian systems..);it seems made for a daily usage and a bit of shell use can be nice not to get lazy..
I have been using Linux since 1999 on several machines running different distros and I feel Dreamlinux a great balanced chooise for desktop.

I tried Ubuntu on an old machine but couldn't get it to work. After a few other abortive attempts with other distros I tried Dreamlinux. It works really well apart from downloading additional programs. This may be my fault as this is my first attempt at using Linux. Overall, I have found Drea,linux a very positive experience and would urge other newbies to give it a go.
