The download link worked for me, I downloaded it the day it showed up on distrowatch.com. I had the same basic problems with the graphical install and had to to it in text mode.

The Good:
I liked the overall look and appearance of the desktop except several icons. I liked the KXDocker so much that I downloaded it and installed it on my SuSE 10 installation. I did the same with superkaramba which is installed on FoX Destktop.

The bad:
K3B did not work and the error reported that I needed cdrdao. It seems to me that if you are going to put K3B in a system that all the files needed to make it work would install at setup. This is ultimately the main reason I do not use this distro currently. The other disk partitions 4 of which are Reisersfs, 2 fat32 and 3 ntfs were not detected and editing fstab did not work. I am not sure but it didn't appear that FoX even supported the reisers.

The Ugly:
No MP3 support just like Fedora.

Overall I agree that this distro will be one to watch over the next few years. I submitted the problems that I ran into to help the development team get past them. I probably would use my FoX installation if I could burn cd's and I may try the the linxu ide=nodma trick and see if cdrdao installs. If so I may give it a second look.

I think you must hate macs.. If so. Right on! :) I mean the Applet bar is a mac thing. So if you don't like it. +1 for you :)

In response to #2:

Actually, I haven't used a Mac in years and years... now that I think about it, I haven't even seen a Mac in years and years. Everybody I know seems to use PCs and... more PCs. I stand by my comments on the Applet Bar because all I wanted to do was launch a program... and it kept wiggling around!
